WE, LOKASHANKARAM FOUNDATION - a non-government, registered, charitable section 8 company working for the welfare of persons with developmental disabilities such as M.R, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome Learning Disabilities etc) based out at Bangalore

The Foundation addresses a pressing challenge: individuals with intellectual disabilities often remain lifelong dependents on parents, siblings, or guardians. Due to limited skills and capabilities, they cannot pursue regular schooling or employment, leaving them without financial independence or social inclusion.

This dependency not only impacts their dignity and quality of life but also places immense emotional, social, and financial strain on families. Parents often face isolation, stigma, and lack of time for themselves, further deepening the cycle of exclusionLokashankaram Foundation offers an integrated residential campus where neurodivergent adults thrive alongside their aging parents, ensuring continuous compassionate care across generations.

The Vision of Lokashankaram Foundation is well captured in the name Loka Shankara in Sanskrith language meaning Welfare of all and service to all. The Focus is on persons with intellectual disabilities as well as women of Backward and poor classes who are yet to reach the affordable and quality facilities in:

The Mission of Lokashankaram Foundation is to establish a Lifelong Residential Care for the persons with Intellectual Disabilities such as Autism, Developmental delays, Speech & Language difficulty, Downs syndrome, Cerebral palsy and Mental retardation along with Assisted Living for the parents of such persons or any other Senior Citizens.

Also, Lokashankaram is working for empowerment of women from Backward and poor classes by establishing community centers - providing gainful job opportunities, Social, Cultural and Educational welfare activities.
